Hymns & Hamburgers

On Friday evening July 12 we are looking forward to a wonderful time of singing the great hymns of the faith! We will enjoy hymns like Wesley’s “And Can It Be?”; Newton’s “Amazing Grace”; Stafford’s “It Is Well With My Soul”; or Luther’s “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God.” These songs fill our hearts with praise and adoration of our great God and Savior, strengthens our minds with transforming truth, and calls us to offer our hands and feet to His service and glory.

He left His Father’s throne above,
So free, so infinite His grace;
Emptied Himself of all but love,
And bled for Adam’s helpless race;
‘Tis mercy all, immense and free;
For, O my God, it found out me.

We will hear some of the “backstory” that led to these hymns being penned, many so long ago and still blessing us today. Enter into the richness of this heritage. Additionally, we’ll “dine” on a burger to add to our enjoyment of time together. If you are over 60, this is an evening that holds spiritual treasure and “sings our Great Redeemer’s praise.”

Please RSVP to mary@heritageokc.org.
