The aim of the student ministry is “Developing students who Delight in God and Declare his glory.”
To accomplish this goal we try to maintain a long-term vision. We want the students to walk through these years gaining a clear understanding of the purpose of the Church. We guard against programming that feeds our natural tendency to think that the world revolves around me or that the church exists to entertain me. Instead, we want students to know that we are called to love God and love others; to serve God and serve others; that we have been blessed to be a blessing. We love to have fun together and we are actively looking to build community. In fact, there is no better way to build community and love for one another than to serve with each other.
Sunday 9:00-10:15
Location – Youth Room / Café
After hanging out in the Café, 7th–12th grade students gather in the Youth Room for a time of worship, interactive teaching and table discussions. We have a few different teachers that share the teaching responsibilities and we are currently using the Teach Me Your Way curriculum by Truth78. This study examines what Scripture says about surrendering to Jesus in salvation and submitting to His way in obedience. A large portion of the curriculum will use the Sermon on the Mount to demonstrate the character of a true believer. There is an At Home portion of each lesson that encourages students to get in the Word during the week and to spend time with the Lord.
Wednesday 6:30-8:00 pm
Location – Youth Room / Café
During the school year 7th –12th students gather on Wednesday nights for a time of worship, teaching and small group discussion. We typically walk through a book of the Bible chapter by chapter trusting that studying God’s Word is the most important thing we can do with our time. Gender specific and age specific small groups allow us to dig deeper and discuss the relevancy of the Word in our daily lives. Each small group has two adult leaders that care for their flock. Wednesday nights also provide the students with a great opportunity to connect with one another. Every fourth or fifth week we do more of a fellowship/activity night to provide students and leaders extended time to develop relationships.
